They discussed topics pertaining to the boys’ choir from the capital of Slovakia and Slovak National Gallery children’s literature illustration exhibition etc.
According to Deputy Mayor Linghu, Slovakia has forged an excellent relationship with Taiwan since 2003, and both countries hold strong ties in economic, trade and culture-related fields. He expressed his gratitude to the delegates for visiting Taichung to engage in in-depth bilateral exchanges in relation to boys’ choir from the capital of Slovakia and children’s literature illustration exhibition and painting exhibition. He also instructed the Education Bureau and Cultural Affairs Bureau to offer their assistance.
He also expressed that Slovakia is an extremely important trading partner of Taiwan due to its strategic location in the heart of Europe, much like Taichung, which is located in central Taiwan. Consequently, he hopes to foster future economic and trade cooperation based on successful cultural collaboration.
Representative Martin Podstavek pointed out that Taichung is a charismatic metropolis and the second largest city in Taiwan, and it is also steeped in history, therefore he has visited the city to promote cultural activities. Slovakia and Taiwan hold close economic and cultural ties; as far as Slovakia is concerned, Taiwan is the second largest investor in Asia, hence besides economic cooperation, he also strives to facilitate further cultural collaboration.
As the Chinese New Year draws near, he wished everyone a Happy New Year and offered his blessings in Taichung’s bid to becoming a more modern and magnificent metropolis.
