Houli Horse Ranch area of the 2018 Taichung World Flora Expo is located in Houli Horse Ranch, a venue steeped in history dating back a century. In supporting the flora expo’s spirit of preserving the old while introducing the new, historic monuments and buildings were restored while a brand new equestrian stadium (largest in the country) conforming to international standards was constructed. Furthermore, Almaty Equestrian Performance of Kazakhstan has been invited to stage nearly 300 equestrian performances during the flora expo. Since the opening ceremony, their performances have seen sold-out audiences and standing ovations, becoming the showpiece of Taichung flora expo.

According to the Tourism Office, the newly constructed equestrian stadium in Houli Horse Ranch is 110m long and 70m wide, accommodating 1,400 seats. The spacious stadium provides the audience with the perfect view of the equestrian performance from different angles. Almaty Equestrian Performance of Kazakhstan hails from the world's largest landlocked country Kazakhstan, which has a thriving livestock industry. Almost every citizen of the country is well-versed in the art of horse riding, therefore there are many internationally-acclaimed Kazakh equestrian performance troupes.

In particular, Almaty Equestrian Performance of Kazakhstan is one such troupe that is steeped in heritage, often invited to important functions and occasions. Riders performing in Taiwan all have at least 3 years of performing experience. Each performance lasts approximately 40 minutes, featuring formation riding, roman riding, whip stunts, and the piece de resistance - the first-ever horse drag racing stunt performance in Taiwan. The performances have brought plenty of visual spectacles for the flora expo visitors.Except for Tuesdays, the Almaty Equestrian Performance of Kazakhstan will be staged at 11:00 and 15:00 daily at the Houli Horse Ranch are of Taichung flora expo. Additional performances will be held on February 19 and March 19.

The Tourism Office stated that in light of ensuring the utmost viewing quality and safety for the visitors, the equestrian stadium can only accommodate up to 1,800 persons at a time. In order to prevent visitors from waiting too long in the queue for the equestrian performance, number cards will be distributed 2 hours prior to each show. One person can only obtain one card, and the cards will be handed out on a first come first served basis. The cards are only valid for the show stated on the card, and the visitors may visit the other areas of the park after receiving a number card. They only need to enter the equestrian stadium before the specified time. For more details, please browse the flora expo official website, and on-site announcements will take precedence.

In addition, at 10:00 on every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 10 horse riders dressed in extravagant costumes will be parading in the horse ranch area for the public to view at a close distance and take pictures. There are also 8 miniature horse exhibit stations, allowing tourists to admire and take photographs. A limited quantity of I’m An Horse Expert Passport will be handed out in the station every day, and those who collect the stamps at all 8 stations will be entitled to 20% discount for the second lap of the guide horseback riding experience in the park.

According to the Tourism Office, everyone is welcome to come to the Taichung flora expo during Chinese New Year and visit the Houli Horse Ranch area in order to appreciate the serene beauty of flowers and the dynamic energy of stallions in the paradise of flowers and horses.
