In order to let new residents blend into the way of life in Taichung, Taichung City New Resident Arts Center was established on the first floor of the general activity center in Fengle Sculpture Park in Nantun District, serving as a venue for new residents to share their emotions, interact, learn and grow together. Inside the lobby, there is a new resident-theme exhibition space, hosting permanent exhibitions every year under different themes, hoping to bring the new residents to Taichung citizens. The purpose is to let the people of Taiwan get to know new resident on a deeper level, in turn generating cultural exchange.
The 2019 Taichung City New Inhabitant Wedding Culture Exhibition presents the traditional wedding culture of countries such as Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines, as well as the local wedding ceremonial items and garments. Moreover, the event was held in conjunction with the Tourism Office's top 100 wedding photo shooting location voting event, where a "Happiness Photo Wall" was created for the public to take pictures.
In addition, other activities including new resident "happiness home cooking", Dragon Boat Festival celebration, wedding etiquette lecture, Minnan dialect course, and lottery will also be organized during the exhibition period.
