Have you seen Italian movies before? Taichung City Information Bureau collaborated with Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival to host the "Golden Horse Classic Film Festival – Voyage to Italy", encompassing 37 classic masterpieces by 7 prominent Italian directors that will be debuted at the Shin Kong Cinemas in Taichung from August 15 to 26, with ticket sales starting on July 31. On July 17, the Limited Movie Aficionado Ticket Package will be on sale for art film enthusiasts.
According to Information Bureau Director General Huang-sheng Wu, Taichung City Information Bureau and Taichung International Animation Festival (TIAF) collaborated with Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival Executive Committee for the first time to host the most comprehensive Ingmar Bergman -The Centennial Retrospective film festival for the Swedish master filmmaker, which received wide acclaim. This year, they have joined forces again to host the exciting Golden Horse Classic Film Festival. Meanwhile, the first art film promotion center in Taichung "TCZS73" has already commenced soft opening with the ambition of driving art film development in Taichung.
TIAF CEO Ying-chih Lin suggested that this year's film festival comprises award-winning works from 7 distinguished Italian directors: Roberto Rossellini, Vittorio De Sica, Luchino Visconti, Michelangelo Antonioni, Federico Fellini, Alessandro Blasetti, and Pietro Germi. The list of extravagant films includes Roma città aperta, Stromboli, Sciuscia, Ladri di biciclette, Rocco e i suoi fratelli, Il Gattopardo, L'Avventura, L'Eclisse, La doice Vita, Otto e mezzo, Fabiola, and Divorzio all'italiana.
Besides the quintessential films, the organizer also unveiled the NT$4,800 (valued at NT$7,700) Movie Aficionado Ticket Package, featuring a stylish HYDY co-branded thermos flask, and an exquisite Golden Horse classic roll film-inspired collector's card. The card not only serves as a bookmark but also allows the cardholder to enjoy a discount when purchasing movie tickets.
