Coinciding with the Double Tenth Day, Tourism and Travel Bureau will be launching a series of Da-an Sea Tourism Promotion activities over a period of 9 days starting on October 12. In particular, a variety of acrobatic kite performances will be unveiled at the Daan Kite Festival on October 12 and 13, and superhero kites will also be flown at the venue. Parents and children are welcome to fly their kites at the festival and experience the force of Da-an Wind.
According to the Tourism and Travel Bureau, Da-an Sea Tourism Promotion event series includes the highly anticipated kitesurfing and kite festival, as well as other activities such as a food market featuring Taichung's agricultural products, light journey of the coastline, Operation Cherish the Ocean – Eliminating Plastics beach clean-up effort, package-free picnic, and marine ecology film festival.
On top of that, 2 groups of coastline light journey will be conducted on October 12 and 19, taking visitors to scenic destinations in Daan, Dajia, and Waipu. The activity is combined with beach clean-up, eco-tour, and agricultural experiences. Tourism and Travel Bureau Director-General Hsiao-chi Lin commented that this year's event has received a budget from the Ocean Affairs Council to promote marine ecology conservation, embrace the ocean movement, and daily plastic reduction initiatives. Everyone is invited to attend the marine ecology film festival and protect the ocean by cleaning up the beach, reducing the use of plastics, and enjoying package-free picnics using their own containers.
