The “6th Tunghai Art Festival in 2019” will be held at the Corbusier Plaza on Tunghai Art Street on October 26th. Based on the theme of Halloween, store owners from the Tunghai Art Street Shopping District will dress up as goblins and monsters to interact with the general public, alongside the thematic market, music and dance performances as well as street artist performances, etc. A limited edition Ka-Tsi document holder may be received for purchases reaching NT$500 at the membership stores in the shopping district from September 26th to October 26th. DIY experience courses will also be available from October 5th to October 28th, online registration is available starting from today (25th). Everyone is welcome to participate.
Today, the Economic Development Bureau held the press conference for the “6th Tunghai Art Festival in 2019 – Halloween! Hello! We!” The store owners from the Tunghai Art Street Shopping District dressed up based on the COSPLAY theme of “Halloween,” bringing splendid “Hello! Halloween!” performances. In the bustling atmosphere, director-general Feng-Yuan Chang of the Economic Development Bureau also delightfully danced while holding large candies and inviting the general public to participate in the shopping district event.
The Economic Development Bureau indicated that various types of splendid music and dance performances, Halloween themed market, street artist performances, DIY experience courses, etc. have been arranged for this year’s event. On top of this, as an encouragement for the visitors to spend, a limited edition Ka-Tsi document holder may be received for purchases reaching NT$500 at the membership stores in the shopping district starting from tomorrow until October 26th.
Furthermore, the Tunghai Art Street Shopping District with strong handicraft characteristics is combined with the International Festival of Arts to launch the DIY experience courses from October 5th to October 28th, including courses, such as hand-brewed coffee lessons, seed garden, handmade desserts, floriculture, natural moisturizing and nourishing lipstick, etc. Registration is available starting today on the Tunghai Art Street Shopping District fan page, registration is limited to 100 people.
The Economic Development Bureau stated that the Tunghai Art Street Shopping District actively collaborates with local colleges, where students from the Department of Marketing at Feng Chia University created the Halloween atmosphere for the shopping district with the theme of “Hello! We! Halloween in Art Street,” turning it into the new landmark for taking photos and checking-in. Students from the Department of Industrial Design at Tunghai University used the theme of “Light Up the Memories of Art Street” to combine string lights, laser machines and acrylic strips, allowing visitors to write down their memories of the Art Street in words, and to save the text. The text will be hung up in the Art Street as installation art in the shopping district for the visitors to interact with.
The Economic Development Bureau specified that the city government will continue to organize characteristic events as an active gesture to sculpt the shopping district characteristics of Taichung City, to promote urban tourism and attract tourists to visit and stimulate the economy.
