
Dressed as a car racer, Mayor Lu attended today’s promotion event and sat inside a motion simulator. She first experienced the exciting car race on Shizheng Rd and felt the strong horse power and gravity of formular-1 car racing. During the ride, the authentic racing experience amazed her and she continuously said, “Cool! It is exciting!” When arriving at the destination, she “turned up her thumb” and her excitement was contagious.
Mayor Lu emphasized that this first Formula-1 showrun will be held in two cities, respectively, on Renai Rd. in Taipei on March 7th and on Shizheng Rd. in Taichung on March 8th. The event will authentically present the contents of formula-1 car racing by inviting the best car racers and cars. Before its commencement, the event will attract many fans and by organizing this international event, Taichung will be known to the world.
According to the General Manager of RED BULL, Taiwan, Liao Chien-ciou, she has been looking forward to bringing formula-1 performance to Taiwan and after efforts of many years, finally, this authentic event is made possible in Taichung. Honorable President of the Chinese Taipei Cultural Recreational Sports Association, Chin His-yue, also said thank to the great assistance of Taichung City Government, fans can finally feel the charm of formula-1 car racing at a closer distance.
According to the Sports Bureau, formula-1 is the world’s top sports event and cars are always made with the most advanced technology and expensive materials. Each year, about ten teams will participate in the races at about 16 to 25 stations to compete for the annual championship. The Formula-1 showruns were held in international cities including Marseille, France, Los Angeles, the US, Tokyo, Japan, Copenhagen, Denmark, Cape Town, South Africa, Belfast, North Ireland, and Spielberg, Austria.
The press conference of the “2020 RED BULL RACING SHOWRUN” was launched at the Civic Building on Taiwan Boulevard and attendees included the General Manager of RED BULL Taiwan, Liao Chien-ciou, Honorable President of the Chinese Taipei Cultural Recreational Sports Association, Chin His-yue, CEO of World Gym Taiwan, John Edward Caraccio, Vice Secretary General, Chu Kang-chan, Director General of Sports Bureau, Li Yu-Rui, Director General of Legal Affairs Bureau, Li Shan-Chi, and Director of Secretariat of Taichung City Government, Yen Nai-Lun, as well as many fans.
