Prevention from the epidemic now has been enhanced! With the spread of the global epidemic, COVID-19, in order to reduce infection risks of mass gatherings, the Taichung City Government starting today (16th) tightened its epidemic prevention measures at the civic building. Those who come to the affiliated agencies of the Taichung City Government for business are required to wear facial masks, measure body temperature and clean and disinfect hands and they shall also register their “real names” and personal information for tracing in order to reduce transmission risks. Mayor Lu Shiow-Yen stressed that to incorporate with the raising to Alert Level 1 facility of the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC), the Taichung City Government will prepare all epidemic prevention measures in advance to safeguard and protect the health of residents in Taichung.
According to Mayor Lu, “Epidemic prevention shall be both prepared in advance and shall be strictly implemented!” With the severe global spreading, the Taichung City Government will enhance its prevention level and incorporate it with the raising to Alert Level 1 facility of the CECC. In addition to the requirement of wearing facial masks, body temperature measurement, hand disinfection, those who come to governmental agencies for business are required to register their “real names” for source tracing and risk management for better protection of residents when necessary.
Deputy Chief of Secretariat of Taichung, Mr. Lee Cheng-Feng, said, agencies of Taichung City Government are located at “assembly offices” in charge of several consultation services and receiving about 6,000 visitors, 3,000 people times, daily when logistics and delivery personnel come to the buildings on Taiwan Boulevard and Yangming. With the huge traffic amount, the Taichung City Government adopts the tightest epidemic prevention measures to assist and confirm facial mask wearing, body temperature measurement and hand cleaning and disinfection at each entrance by the designated personnel.
Deputy Chief Lee pointed out that since the open areas of entries to the civic buildings remain unchanged and for those who come to service agencies for business are required to first register with their “real names” as well as provide personal information such as telephone number. Personal information is provided for epidemic prevention purpose only and he also called for the public to make use of online application and telephone consultation to avoid entering public places and to protect yourself and others.
Additionally, to avoid mass gathering of dining and to reduce infection risks, the cafeteria for employees of the Taichung City Government between today and March 27th without influencing public services will begin a new time schedule of meal services. Take outs are offered between 11:00 and 12:00 in the morning and from 12:00 to 13:00 in the afternoon, dining services are provided. Inside the cafeteria, partition plates are placed continuously and those without partition plate, will have single row seats arrangement. With the cooperation of the employees of Taichung City Government and the public, trial services are operated smoothly.
Mr. Ku, the operator of the cafeteria, said, it is the special period for epidemic prevention and each day the cafeteria cleans and disinfects seats and counters. Each month, Taichung City Government sub-contracts the disinfection service provider to have large-scale cleaning. With the new time schedule and installation of partition plates, everyone can be better protected. Employees of the Taichung City Government also stressed that with the installation of the partition plate, they felt better protected.
