To respond to the spread of COVID-19, the Taichung City Government made great efforts to control and prevent and pre-emptively prepared. Since April 1, Joint Office Areas will be set up on Floor 1 of the Wenxin Building on Taiwan Boulevard and Floor 1 of Yangming Civic Building while Huizhong Building on Taiwan Boulevard will be used purely for administrative purposes and will not be open to the public. Office hours are now shortened to avoid exposure to contact risks.
According to the Secretariat of the Taichung City Government, consultations and public services are provided by the Joint Services Center on Floor 1 and each agency on different floors will now respond to the disease and integrate service functions of civic buildings, the civic buildings on Taiwan Boulevard and at Yangming, respectively, will set up the joint office areas on the courtyards of Floor 1 where they have better ventilation. By providing various services, traffic flow to floors higher than two can be reduced and the use of elevators can be avoided to avoid unnecessary contact risks.
The Secretariat reminded that disease control measures at civic buildings will be continuously tightened and body temperature of everyone that enters these buildings will be checked and face masks shall be worn. The real-name registration is also required. The public is encouraged to use on-line applications or consultations via telephone calls to reduce the frequency of having to enter public spaces to protect themselves.
