Salute to all hardworking COVID-19 frontliners! During the severe outbreak of COVID-19, Taiwan’s medical practitioners and frontliners have been working very hard to safeguard our health. By creating an image card, Taichung City Government wrote down “Salute to Medical Practitioners and Frontliners” and “Thank You” with the printed big “Red Heart of Love” on the horizontal stripes background. It is now displayed on the big LED screen in front of the square of the Civic Building on Taiwan Boulevard to acknowledge the contribution of all COVID-19 frontliners!
According to the Taichung City Government, to respond to the severe outspread of COVID-19, the Taichung Epidemic Command Center (TECC) was upgraded to be the first-tier agency on February 28th to make prior preparations for all disease control and prevention. Medical and social welfare institutions are also working hand in hand on disease control and prevention and the hardworking frontliners have been working for two more months in the battle.
Mayor Lu Shiow-Yen would like to thank the great efforts of the frontliners and yesterday (the 8th) she went to the district office to show her recognition and appreciation to community officers and staff of Civic Affairs. By allocating the second reserved fund, she provided overtime work compensation to them. Her cabinet in Taichung City especially designed the image card and from today, the extra big TV screen at the Civic Square will display the card on behalf of the City Government and Taichung citizens dedicated to all medical practitioners and frontliners of this pandemic.
According to the Taichung City Government, the background of the “mask” image of this appreciation card is used because masks remind us of the frontliners and medical practitioners who work very hard to protect national health and we also want to thank them. On the other hand, the image of mask is to remind the public that to wear a mask in any public space to protect ourselves and others and we shall work together with all frontliners.
This card will be displayed between now and June 30th from 8:00 to 10:00 in the morning and 14:00-16:00 in the afternoon on the large LED display at the square of the Civic Building on Taiwan Boulevard showing our appreciation to all hardworking medical practitioners and frontliners.
Ms. Wu who watched the display on the big TV screen said she can feel the appreciation of the City Government for the frontliners and she is also thankful for the great efforts of the frontliners to slow down the impact of the pandemic. Ms. Liao, a Taichung citizen, also said the design of mask background is very creative and all frontliners really work very hard and she believes that by working together, we are able to succeed to combat this pandemic and return to our normal lives.
