Due to the slowdown of COVID-19 in Taiwan, citizens in Taiwan can now purchase brand name face masks via multiple mechanisms including sales at the contracted drugstores of national health insurance, public health centers, eMask websites, the Health Insurance Quick and Easy app, or nearby four chains of convenience stores by inserting a health insurance card to pre-order, continue ordering and make the payment. Incorporated with the policy of the central government, 29 Public Health Centers in the Taichung City since June will sell face masks on weekdays from Monday to Friday except for weekends and national holidays to better serve the public.
Director General of Public Health Bureau, Tseng Tzu-Chan said there are a total of 30 Public Health Centers in Taichung and among them, 29 will resume sales of face masks on the name base from 13:30 to 16:00 on weekdays between Monday and Friday except for weekends and national holidays to better serve the public.
Additionally, brand name face mask sales at the Lishan Public Health Center will be adjusted to 9:00 to 12:00 on weekdays and 9:00 to 11:00 on weekends and national holidays. An additional purchase site, Pingdeng Public Health Office is now added to offer brand name face mask purchases by incorporating them with the inspection time conducted by the Lishan Public Health Center at the Office.
The Public Health Bureau reminds the public that from June 1st, anyone who would like to purchase a face mask, they can make use of sales hours on weekdays or diverse mechanisms to buy face masks with the brand name registration. Additionally, from June 25th, during the four long holiday of Dragon Boat Festival, schools and governmental agencies will be off. No face masks will be sold at the Public Health Centers. But on Saturday, June 20th, due to the flexible adjustment, that will be a work day and face mask purchases will be available.
The Public Health Bureau also alerts the public that although in Taiwan, the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic is now slowing down, but we still need to coordinate with the New Pandemic Prevention and Control Life Movement supervised by the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC). Comply with hand washing, respiratory hygiene, and coughing protocol such as washing hands regularly. When going out, do remember to keep social distancing and wear a face mask to protect your health and that of others. If you have a fever or any respiratory tract symptom, wear a face mask and go to see a doctor immediately and do not take any means of public transport.
