
The Bureau described that the 1st Taichung Shopping Festival only allowed consumers who shopped to physical stores in Taichung to join, but in consideration of the leading "stay-at-home economy," the Bureau would like to expand the coverage of the Festival. This year for the first time transcends space limits to cooperate with the two leading e-commerce platform operators, ET Mall and PChome, to introduce products of local stores in Taichung online and establish the "Designated Area of Taichung Shopping Festival" on the front page to promote the Festival to consumers outside Taichung and increase the visibility of local stores in Taichung.
According to the data, the Bureau said 80% online shoppers are outside Taichung and among them, 24% are from New Taipei City followed by those from Taipei City, 15%. About 14% of the online consumers are local residents of Taichung, 14%, ranking the third. Residents from Kaohsiung City and Taoyuan City are at the 4th and 5th places. Hot sale items include foods, recreation and leisure and cosmetics products.
The Bureau would like to thank the five metropolises for their support to the Taichung Shopping Festival and emphasized that the Festival will continue for about one month.
