A Step further towards the Official Operations of the MRT Green Line! Application for the Inspection and Approval of the Central Government by the Taichung City Government

The initial inspection of the Taichung MRT green line was conducted for the drill simulating an event when the train is on fire and there is failure when waiting for rescue support. The drill result was recognized by the inspection commissioners due to the rapid and correct response abilities. For eight items that need to be improved, with the cooperation between the Department of Rapid Transit Systems of the Taipei City Government and the Department of Rapid Transit Systems of the Taichung City Government, a re-inspection was completed within ten days. Today, the application for a review inspection by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications was filed to closely coordinate with the Central Government for speeding up administrative operations for timely operations of the Green Line. The Director General of the Transportation Bureau, Yeh Chao-Fu, pointed out that the official operation is one of the great news of Taichung City this year. With the total traveling distance of 16.71 kilometers, there are 18 stations and one plant. Among them, Songzhu Station, Daqing Station and THSR Taichung Station are transit stations of Taiwan Railways and Taiwan High Speed Rail. The MRT provides diverse choices of the means of transportation and with intensive services that will dramatically shorten the traveling time of riders. Additionally, the Transportation Bureau of the Taichung City Government also plans to adjust bus routes and add iBike stops and parking spaces according to the surrounding environment of each station. At the same time, bus stops, kiss and ride areas for passenger cars and taxi stops will be properly planned to give the public a wider traffic transportation network in Taichung.
