Today (7th), the Director of the Trade Council of Denmark, Taipei, Bo Mønsted, visited Deputy Mayor Bruce Linghu to recognize the development of Taichung in the field of renewable energy such as offshore wind power. He also invited the Mayor or Deputy Mayor to participate in the job fair jointly organized by the Taichung City Government and his Council on September 12th and to visit the designated area of wind power generation. Deputy Mayor Bruce Linghu said Taichung has put great emphasis on the development of renewable energy and actively promotes offshore wind power and solar power generation. On behalf of Mayor Lu, he will attend the job fair on September 12th to facilitate exchanges between the Taichung City Government and Denmark.
Accompanied by the Secretary General, Yen Nai-Lun, Deputy Director General of Labor Affairs Bureau, Lo Chun-Mu, and Deputy Director General of Economic Development Bureau, Li Yi-An, Deputy Mayor Linghu greeted the delegation of the Trade Council of Denmark, Taipei led by Director Bo Mønsted to exchange ideas on offshore wind power generation. Additionally, the Labor Affairs Bureau on September 12th will organize the job fair for "3,000 Job Vacancies to Stimulate Employment" with the given five designated feature areas and among these areas, the "designated wind power area" is jointly set up by the he Taichung City Government and the Trade Council of Denmark, Taipei. Both sides discussed the job fair in the meeting.
According to Deputy Mayor Linghu, the Taichung City Government cares very much about sustainable development and therefore, it actively promotes wind power and solar power generation with the aim to reduce carbon emission and contribute to environmental protection. In terms of wind power generation, although most wind farms are located in Changhua and Miaoli, yet relevant industries are booming in the Taichung Harbor. With this advantage, Taichung is developing the wind power industry well and in the future, Taichung would like to exchange more ideas on the development of relevant industries with Denmark and enhance cooperation between the two sides in every field.
Director of the Trade Council of Denmark, Taipei, Bo Mønsted, said Taichung is Taiwan's second largest metropolis and has been a great city with continuous progress. He is glad that he can have the chance to visit Taichung. Demark has been known for good development of wind power generation. He would like to thank the Taichung City Government for organizing the job fair. This designated wind power area provides 260 job vacancies with the starting salary of NT$40,000 and many of them are offered by Danish companies. He sincerely invited the Mayor or the Deputy Mayor to attend the job fair on September 12th and to visit the designated wind power area.
Deputy Mayor Linghu gladly agreed and said that on behalf of Mayor Lu, he will attend the job fair. He hoped that with the provision of job vacancies with good salaries, more people will be attracted to Taichung. Additionally, Taichung is a livable city with good weather, beautiful mountain and sea sceneries and rich cultural roots. Taichung also offers a good bilingual educational system and is a city of great potential. He also welcomed Bo Mønsted to visit Taichung often to experience Taichung's hospitality and culture.
