According to the Taichung Rapid Transit Corporation, among the 18 stations along the MRT Green Line, 12 are equipped with parking lots that motorcyclists need to pay for parking and now 7 of them will offer free parking during the trial operations. Among those stations where motorcyclists still need to pay for parking, 5 stations including Siwei Elementary School Station, Wenxin-Cungde Station, Wenhua Senior High School Station, and Wenxin-Sakura Station, and Nantun Station are not open for free motorcycle parking due to the joint building construction at these stations incorporated with land joint development.
The Taichung Rapid Transit Corporation said motorcycle parking lots utilize the license plate identification system for quick accesses and avoiding lost vouchers. In the future, when the MRT is officially operated, the Corporation will provide parking discounts for transit passengers to encourage the public to ride on the MRT.
