Pedestrian traffic control enforced during Chinese New Year – Maximum of 900 people permitted on Gaomei Wetland boardwalk
As Chinese New Year nears, Taichung City Government continues to heighten outbreak prevention measures by bolstering pedestrian traffic control at tourist attractions according to instructions issued by the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC). In particular, pedestrian traffic control measures will be implemented at the Gaomei Wetland (Gaomei Wetland Preservation Area) boardwalk from February 10 to 16, limiting to 900 people at a time. In addition to the one in and one out policy, the boardwalk will be closed on 17:30, where security staff will enforce control and clear the venue.
According to the Agriculture Bureau, although Gaomei Wetland boardwalk is an outdoor venue, the city government will remain vigilant during the Chinese New Year February 10-16), limiting the number of visitors to 900 at the Gaomei Wetland. Furthermore, the one in and one out policy will be adopted; since sunset during the Chinese New Year holiday is 17:50, the boardwalk will be closed at 17:30 to protect the public's safety, while security staff will enforce control and clear the venue.
The Agriculture Bureau reminds the public to visit The Ecosystem of Gaomei Wetland Preservation Area website (https://www.saygaomei.com.tw/woodenWalkway) to check the opening hours of the boardwalk before traveling to Gaomei Wetland. They can also check the Taichung City eTraffic Website (http://taichung.csii.com.tw/) for the live images of pedestrian traffic conditions. For the health and safety of yourself and others, please wear a mask at tourist attractions, maintain adequate social distance, and comply with control measures at the venue.
