The Taichung MRT Green Line today (the 25th) resumed its test run and the Taichung MRT Corporation launched special e-tickets. First was the transparent Logo card that features the "light weight, simple and transparent" station structure. With transparent design in gloss finish, the card presented a unique quality. Since March 25th, the card was made available at front desks of them18 stations at the price of NT$100. A free brochure of the "the MRT Tour" was given away when purchasing the card. During the event, the brochure offered discounts at shops and opportunities to enter lucky draws.
According to the President of the Taichung MRT Corporation, Lin Chi-Ying, this transparent card was launched in cooperation between the Taichung MRT Corporation and the EasyCard Corporation that demonstrates city value. The Taichung MRT was awarded the German Red Dot package design for the design of "BorderLabs" work that incorporates minimalist designs to simply present the logo of the Taichung MRT for easy recognition. Later, the 2021 MRT commencement card and tour tickets in the same style are expected to be launched.
The Taichung MRT Corporation said when purchasing a Taichung MRT logo transparent card, riders will receive the "Taichung MRT Tour" brochure with the limited edition of 14,000 copies as well as tickets for lucky draws. The brochure integrates information on the important tourism information of Taichung and introduced more than 50 selected shops along the Green Line. During the event period, when presenting the brochure at a cooperating shop, riders can enjoy discounts for dining in or for products. Discounts will be offered until May 23rd and there will be lucky draws for lucky winners to win a total value of over NT$47,000. According to the Taichung MRT Corporation, during the test run, passengers with e-tickets (EasyCard, iPass, and icash) will be able to enjoy their free ride on the Taichung MRT. Operating time of the Green Line was scheduled from 6:00 and 24:00 daily with a frequency of five minutes between trains at peak times and eight minutes at off hours on weekdays while on weekends, trains will depart every eight minutes between 6:00 and 10:00 and 20:00 and 23:00 and every 5.5 minutes between 10:00 and 20:00. On both weekdays and weekends, after 23:00, trains will depart every 15 minutes and to respond to the needs of riders on the last THSR train, an additional Taichung MRT train will be offered at 0:15 every day from the THSR Taichung MRT Station heading for Beitun Terminal Station.
The Taichung MRT Corporation pointed out that for those without an e-ticket, they can inquire about ticket purchase at the service desk. Riders shall wear their masks when riding on the MRT. No food and drink is allowed after entering an MRT station. Give way to those who get off first before getting on the train. Hold the hand holder or stick tightly when riding to jointly protect riding safety and quality.
