To respond to the latest situation of the COVID-19 and incorporate with the newest pandemic prevention and control measures of the Central Epidemic Command Center(CECC), the Chinese Professional Baseball League(CPBL) announced that between today (12th) and June 8th, CPBL matches will be played behind closed doors without fans. The Taichung City Government Sports Bureau consulted with the Taichung Intercontinental Baseball Stadium to implement four measures including the health management program at gates, real-name registration of personnel participating in games, disinfection at public spaces and promotional announcement of pandemic prevention and control. Director General of the Bureau, Li Yi-Rui, said that due to the severe situation of the pandemic, matches were scheduled to be played behind closed doors but fans can still watch games through TV broadcasting or online streaming to protect themselves and others!
According to the Bureau, the Intercontinental Baseball Stadium is an indicator one in Taiwan and the home stadium of fan's favorite China Trust Brothers. The Bureau invited relevant agencies to the pandemic prevention and control meeting to come out with four measures including extensive disinfection at offices, locker rooms, entrances and exits, and toilets, installation of infrared thermal imager for body temperature measurement, real-name registration, hand sanitization with alcohol, face mask wearing and promotional announcement of pandemic prevention and control to protect CPBL players and staff.
To incorporate with CPBL matches played behind closed doors, fans are welcome to watch games on cable TV, MOD, OTT and online platforms to show the support to their favorite teams and players!
