To improve bus transit services around the Tanzi Joint Office Building for better commuting, schooling and business utilization, the Director General of the Transportation Bureau, Yeh Chao-Fu, said the Bureau negotiated with bus transit operators to extend routes of Line #66, #72 and #77 from downtown to existing Tzuchi Hospital to the Tanzi Joint Office Building since the 26th. Additionally, the space for buses to make a u-turn for returning journeys and preparation were planned to provide a rider friendly parking environment without interrupting local traffic. At the same time, traffic safety and drivers’ rights were taken into consideration. According to Director General of the Transportation Bureau, Yeh Chao-Fu, pointed out that after the commencement of the Tanzi Joint Office Building, several agencies such as Tanzi District Office and the Taichung City Police Department were present. With the increasing crowds, bus services provided by Line #20, #123 and #920 that connects Tanzi and Taiyuan Station were limited. To enhance mass transportation services in that area, the Bureau continuously negotiated with bus transit operators to extend bus services between the MRT Green Line and adjacent areas in Beitun District. Taichung Bus and Ubus showed their willingness to serve more citizens. In the future, passengers can ride buses from the MRT Sunzhu Station, TRA Sunlin Station and New Civic Center to the Building. According to the Bureau, route extension services of Line #72, #66 and #77 started on the 26th to the "Tanzi Joint Office Building" stop with the added "Zhongxing Stop" on Fengxing Rd. In response of route extension services, time to stop at each stop will be slightly adjusted. Director General Yeh said the space behind the Building were planned for buses to make a u-turn for returning journeys, preparation and line marking will be prepared.
