The Transportation Bureau of Taichung City Government expresses that, oriented to the customs and traditions of paying tributes to and worshipping ancestors, Taichung City’s parking charges for roadside parking lots (for automobiles and motorcycles) and public unenclosed off-street surface parks will be waived for 1 day on Tomb Sweeping Day (Qingming Festival), April 5, 2022. As for enclosed surface parking and parking towers with controlled access, charges will be incurred as usual.
In addition, to maintain citizens’ rights for parking, the Bureau appeals to parking service providers not to impose illegal charges (ex., increase the parking charges or rate arbitrarily) during the holidays. The public can call the “1999 Citizen Hotline” (1999 Caller Center) to report such situations.
