"2022 Taichung City Community Cultural Season--Community Construction Major League" will be held at the Taichung City Huludun Cultural Center Square from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm on November 12 (this Saturday). The theme of this event is "Community Construction Major League." There will be more than 100 organizations from joining the event, including community construction spots, district offices, museums, local cultural halls, and community universities. The event will offer abundant and diverse community achievement exhibitions, performances, scavenger hunts with a base twist and free gifts, as well as DIY experiences. Everyone is welcome to participate in this annual community construction carnival.
The Cultural Affairs Bureau of Taichung City Government stated that the city government bureaus, district offices, and local community construction teams have been working together to promote community construction after Mayor Shiow-yen Lu took office. They went one step further by combining community construction spots, museums, and local cultural halls. At the same time, they have been actively guiding the transformation of traditional communities and high-density communities, encouraging the local youth to understand the community and participate in community construction. In recent years, Taichung City has obtained the highest amount of subsidy funds in the country from the Ministry of Culture's community construction competitive subsidy program, and the achievements are evident to all.

The 2022 Taichung City Community Cultural Season echoes this year’s theme of the "Community Construction Major League." The organizer plans to have the exhibition area divided and named with baseball terms. On the primary stage of the "pitcher's mound," the community will be taking turns to bring together a brilliant vitality show. The "infield" is a multi-product booth for community construction spots, local cultural halls, and community colleges. The "bullpen" shows the achievements of young people in community construction activities. They plan to host DIY experiences at the "home base", providing various free handcrafting activities from communities and local cultural halls. Activities include lacquer art round mirror paintings, making Chinese medicine epidemic prevention kits, manual Atayal knitting, handmaking mosaic coasters, building wooden children's toys, plate printing bookmarks and postcards of old buildings, silk screen printing of bento cloths, Vietnamese bamboo dragonfly coloring, and various plant dyeing and printing experiences. Available spots are limited, and people of all ages are welcome to participate in the activities.
The Cultural Affairs Bureau indicated that the 20 established community construction centers this year in district offices have been accompanying local communities to promote community construction over the year.
