The "Smart City Summit & Expo" in Taipei will be exhibit at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 2, from today (the 28th) until the 31st. The Taichung City Government takes "Smart Taichung and Happiness in Progress" as the primary axis and showcases the dazzling results of Taichung's intelligence applications. Guo-Rong Huang, Deputy Mayor of Taichung City, attended Smart City Mayors' Summit today to share the results of intelligent applications in Taichung City. He also communicated with representatives of foreign cities and worked together to move towards smart cities.

Holding a physical form, this Smart City Mayors' Summit, the chief executives, and representatives of significant cities globally discuss smart city issues together. They hope to explore innovative and breakthrough municipal strategies together through exchanges between cities. Deputy Mayor Guo-Rong Huang shared the theme of "community demonstration area for smart energy conservation" at the conference, sharing that Taichung City is facing climate change and actively introducing technology to strengthen disaster prevention and response capabilities. Besides building a "smart flood prevention network" and a "Taichung Water Information APP," the government subsidized electric vehicle charging equipment and installed solar power generation systems in apartment buildings, and encouraged communities to jointly promote energy conservation by creating a "community demonstration area for smart energy conservation" to implement energy transformation through multiple channels.

Taichung City promoted the "Blue Sky and White Cloud Project" in terms of the quality of the living environment. Develop smart low-carbon transportation through electric buses, iBike doubling, and the promotion of charging stations for electric vehicles and motorcycles. In 2021, the Environmental Protection Bureau led the country in introducing AI through the automatic image recognition of license plate systems to strengthen control over locomotives that were not regularly inspected and vehicles belching black exhaust during driving, reducing the harm of mobile pollution sources to the environmental quality. These achievements were recognized with the "Smart 50 Awards" in 2022.

According to the Information Management Center, the "Smart City Summit & Expo" of the Taichung City Government presents multiple intelligent application solutions with four themes smart life, transportation, environment, and governance. The Taichung Air Quality Sensing Internet of Things Advanced Project showcased in the "Smart Environment" exhibition won the "2023 GO SMART Award". It uses the Internet to grasp the air quality trend in real-time, combines geographic information systems (GIS), Internet of Things (IoT), and other analyses, and uses technology to help improve air quality effectively. "Smart Governance" is the exhibition highlight, awarded the "2023 GO SMART Award" by Water Resources Intelligent Operations Management System at the Taichung City Precision Machinery Innovation Technology Park. Its auxiliary management units can make appropriate decisions shortly to improve park governance efficiency, safety management, and water quality. The government hopes to move towards intelligent management, service innovation, energy saving, and carbon reduction goals.
