The 2023 "Taichung Picnic Day" press conference was held today in the lobby on the 1st floor of Huizhong Building, Taichung City Hall on Taiwan Boulevard. The spokesperson, Yu-Sheng, appeared and introduced one by one the necessary items for his daily picnic. He smiled and said picnics had combined with everyday life for him. He will carry stacked bowls, packaged tableware, electric fans, and whole plant-based mosquito-repellent liquid. Additionally, he will bring rope skipping and sandbags to help children improve their hand-eye coordination.

Yu-Sheng also said Taichung is full of opportunities, and the citizens know how to live. The more he lives, the more he likes coming to live in Taichung. He is joyful to be able to participate in the Taichung Picnic Day this year. According to Chen Da-Tian Chen, Director of the Construction Bureau, the 2023 "Taichung Picnic Day" will be expanded to four locations. He specially thanked the Environmental Protection Bureau for planning Aofengshan Park in Qingshui District, the Agriculture Bureau for planning Pinglin Forest Park in Taiping District, and the Tourism and Travel Bureau for planning Huludun Park in Fengyuan District beside the continuation of last year's Central Park location. The city government will bring the most convenient, characteristic, and warmest picnic day to citizens through the cooperation of various bureaus of the city government.

Director Chen indicated this picnic day continued the first spirit of low-carbon, sustainable, and environmentally friendly event last year and moved towards the SDGs "2050 net zero carbon emission" goal. People avoid using disposable tableware and take public vehicles to reduce carbon emissions to create a green, low-carbon, and environmentally friendly picnic day with Taichung characteristics throughout the low-carbon, environmental protection, and resource recycling process. He also echoed the city government's efforts to improve air quality and reduce PM2.5 in recent years, allowing people to bring their relatives and friends to have picnics under the broad land, tree shade, and waterfront landscape, leaving unforgettable memories. The Construction Bureau explained the 2023 "Taichung Picnic Day" would open at 10 am on April 10th to register for a limited quality of picnic mats (require two people to sign up in groups and can get one picnic mat). There are 1500 groups in Central Park, 600 groups in Fengyuan Huludun Park, Qingshui Aofeng Mountain Park, and Taiping Pinglin Forest Park, each with a limited number. The First come, first served. Furthermore, the bureau plans pet health care areas next to the fur babies' picnic areas in various venues to provide their intensive care.
