In terms of industrial development, Taichung City's industrial sector began with traditional machinery manufacturing and gradually advanced to precision machinery technology. In particular, the machine tool industry has a world-leading advantage and ranks as the fourth-largest exporter in the world. Among them, 70% of the precision machinery, machine tools, and parts and components factories have set up factories in the central region, which has successfully exerted the cluster effects. The industrial chain fully connects the industrial zone, including Houli Park in the Central Taiwan Science Park, Taichung Park in the Central Taiwan Science Park, Taichung Industrial Park, The Taichung City Precision Machinery Innovation Technology Park, Shengang Fengzhou Technology Industrial Park, and Taichung Export Processing Zone (formerly known as Taichung Export Processing Zone), to form the Greater Taichung Industrial Corridor.

The first large-scale international exhibition center in the central part, the Taichung International Convention and Exhibition Center, will launch in 2025 to assist the industry in connecting with the global market. It will officially play the role of Taichung's external marketing portal and expand the export energy of Taichung products.
