2023 National Day fireworks will move to Taichung! In preparation for the National Day of the Republic of China in 2023, the Secretary General of the National Day Preparatory Committee, Jing-Qun Hua, recently visited Mayor Shiow-Yen Lu. Jing-Qun Hua pointed out that the National Day fireworks show was an annual highlight of National Day activities, considering that the National Day fireworks have not been set off in the central region for many years. Therefore, President Ing-Wen Tsai and the National Day Preparatory Committee Chairman, Si-Kun You, both support the release of National Day fireworks in Taichung this year. Mayor Lu expressed her welcome for holding the National Day fireworks in Taichung, and the city government, in cooperation with the central government, would fully mobilize all parties to make the National Day fireworks livelier and more colorful. Mayor Lu hopes everyone can see the transformation of happiness in Taichung and experience the advantages, highlights, and charm of a happy and livable city together.

Mayor Lu explained on the significance of the National Day fireworks, highlighting its national-level importance and its representation of the country. Taichung City hosted the National Day fireworks in 2002 and 2014, which were well received by the public. After nine years, it will move to Taichung again this year. After the survey and evaluation of the Fireworks Office at the National Day Preparatory Committee, the initially planned set off location is Wuqi Fishing Port. At that time, the city government will mobilize the forces of all bureaus and departments to make every effort to hold the National Day fireworks and create the glory of Taichung.

Mayor Lu said that since she took office more than four years ago, she has adhered to the three primary axes of sunshine, air, and water and has made every effort to govern Taichung and promote various central constructions. It includes the completed Central Park, which is 2.58 times larger than Daan Park in Taipei. And the largest Taichung International Convention and Exhibition Center in the country and Taichung Green Museumbrary under construction. Taichung has transformed into an international city. This year, it was selected as a five-star city for the first time and won first place in three items, governance satisfaction, governance score, and "best progress." All sectors have recognized the development and prosperity of Taichung. The mayor looks forward to showcasing the proud scenery of Taichung people and all Taiwanese people through the National Day fireworks so that the people can have an unforgettable and beautiful National Day night.

Shi-Wei Wu, director of the Civil Affairs Bureau, explained that Taichung would hold this year's National Day fireworks and plan initially to set off at Wuqi Fishing Port. Soon, Deputy Mayor Yu-Min Wang will hold a division meeting between bureaus and departments in the government to fully assist in the preparations for the National Day fireworks. And work together with the central government to bring new experiences to all nationals. At that time, people from all over Taiwan are welcome to take advantage of the National Day Double Ten long weekend to come to Taichung to enjoy the National Day fireworks, visit Taichung, and taste Taichung delicacies to feel the unique charm of Taichung city.
