A1.
● Those who are registered citizens of Taichung City;
● Foreign spouses of registered citizen of Taichung City; and
● Students studying at schools below the university level in Taichung, regardless of their citizenship.

Q2. Are open university students eligible for the offer?

Q3. Are there any other discount packages available for passengers who frequently take the bus but do not qualify for the offer?
A3. Since 2021, non-citizens who take a ride on the Taichung City bus are charged by mileage. Upon boarding, passengers are required to pay the full fare of NT$20 or half fare of NT$11, if the payment is made by cash. Then the following fare will be calculated based on their travel distance and be charged when alighting. To continue encouraging the use of electronic stored value card, non-citizens who take a bus ride using an electronic stored value card will be charged with NT$15 for full fare (i.e., with a discount of NT$5) or NT$11 for half fare upon boarding; and the rest of journey will be charged when alighting based on their travel distance.
