Information on Personal Data Protection

  1. Why does the citizen-only ride discount require the applicant to provide personal information? To ensure that the citizen-only ride discount is used exclusively by the applicant, each citizen is eligible to bind the discount to one card only. Therefore, applicants are required to provide personal information to facilitate the necessary review approval and processing procedures.
  2. Is there a risk of the provided personal information being exposed? The city government carries out the process of binding the citizen-only ride discount in accordance with the Taichung City Transportation Card Guidelines and Paragraph 1 of Article 8 of the Personal Data Protection Act. The personal information provided by the applicants are used for the purpose of applying for card binding and have no other uses.
  3. Could the absence of a card lead to personal information exposure? No, personal data is not written onto the chip. Instead, it is stored in the city government's secure system database and strictly managed according to information security regulations. Therefore, the absence of a card will not result in personal information exposure.
  4. If the applicant refuses to provide personal information, is it possible to proceed with card binding operations? Refusal to provide personal information will make it impossible to complete the required review and processing procedures for the citizen-only ride discount, resulting in the failure of card binding.
