Taichung Xinshe Flower Festival came back after two years of absence and this time it joins hand with the Taichung International Flower Carpet Festival for 23-day flower festival at Seed Improvement and Propagation Station at Xinshe, Taichung, starting from November 11th to December 3rd from 8:30 am to 16:30 pm every day. The "Floating Flower City", Taiwan's first and largest floating flower castle standing 16 meters and 5 stories tall, is built and a dynamic show of floating clouds and mist will be performed on the hour. Mayor Lu Shiow-Yen pointed out in a city hall meeting today (7th) that Xinshe is like the "Provence in Taiwan" and the public get to appreciate how the castle floats in the air. "This is a must-see!"

"Beautiful!" Mayor Lu said that this year's International Flower Carpet Festival is going to be exciting, and the public will get to see Taiwan's largest flower-based festivity. People are encouraged to take the advantage of the free shuttle service, despite the several parking lots around the event ground. In addition, the city government pours in a lot of money, manpower, and resources on planning and setting up exhibitions, hoping to benefit citizens and international and foreign tourists. Visitors are encouraged to help promote the most beautiful aspects of the festival and share their experiences with others.

The Taichung City Government held a city hall meeting today. Deputy director Chen Yucheng of the Tourism and Travel Bureau presented the "2023 Taichung International Flower Carpet Festival – Floating Flower City". Deputy Director Chen highlighted the main attraction of the exhibition area, which the "Floating Flower City", Taiwan's first floating flower castle. More than 30,000 flowers and plants are planted with a total height of 16 meters and a diameter of more than 50 meters. A total of 200,000 flowers and 23 kinds of flowers are used to create a 2-hectare exhibition area. This year, the main design is centered on the local elements of "natural ecology, agricultural development, and humanistic wisdom" to depict the three patron saints of flower capital, echoing that Xinshe is the real version of the dream country; and four creative theme exhibition areas are planned, including the seven lines of rainbow greeting visitors at the entrance, the goddess of crafts incorporating local weaving and indigo dyeing, the ecological warrior designed in the image of Mr. Isoda, the engineer who built Bailengzhun, and the earth giant symbolizing smart agriculture.

Deputy Director Chen mentioned that the parking lot in the exhibition area is designed to accommodate 1,267 passenger cars. There are 30 parking bays designated for disabled and parent-child cars , along with 1,200 motorcycle parking bays planned on the northwest side near the Jiuqugou Detention Pond. In addition, parking spaces are also planned at the shuttle bus hub, providing a total of 2,884 parking bays for cars and 2,398 for motorcycles. There are limited parking spaces in the exhibition area. It is recommended to use the parking lots nearby along the Taichung MRT line and take the free shuttle buses to the exhibition area from MRT Songzhu Station In order to avoid traffic jams caused by the influx of vehicles and affecting tourists' interest in traveling.

Deputy Director Chen explained that there are 5 planned shuttle bus routes, including the "Fengyuan, Taiyuan, and Songzhu Lines", and "Dongshi and Venue Loop Lines" which are available on holidays. Visitors are advised to take the TRA trains to Fengyuan and Songzhu Stations and then transfer for the shuttle bus. Visitors are reminded that traffic control is in place at the event site from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day, and the public is welcome to use public transportation for the event.
