The Taichung City Government is promptly addressing public transportation needs! To enhance bus network coverage in Wufeng District's Dingtai Village and better meet the commuting needs of students from Nanshi Village attending Guangfu Junior High School and Guangfu Elementary School, the Transportation Bureau has collaborated with Central Taiwan Bus to adjust the 282 secondary line in Wufeng District by extending the route to Lane 559 of Dingtai Road, adding new stops, and adjusting the schedules and frequency of both the main and secondary lines. The main line's weekday services will increase from 28 to 32 trips. These changes will take effect tomorrow (30th), ensuring more convenient travel for residents. Please stay updated on the new schedule.
Transportation Bureau Director Yeh Chao-fu noted that a review of bus networks showed that residents living near Lane 559 of Dingtai Road had to walk a considerable distance to reach the nearest bus stops, which can be especially tiring for elderly individuals. To improve convenience, the bureau has worked with Central Taiwan Bus to extend the 282 secondary line into this area, ensuring easier access to public transportation. “Although it's only a 5-minute advance in the departure time, it reflects the city government's care for students commuting by bus,” Director Yeh said. Yeh also noted that with the increase in students from Nanshi Village attending Guangfu Junior High School and Guangfu Elementary School, the bureau has adjusted the 282 main line’s 6:40 AM departure from Tonglin to 6:35 AM and rebalanced the main and secondary line schedules, giving students more options and extra time for their school commute.
The Transportation Bureau added that starting September 30, the 282 main line's morning departure from Tonglin will be adjusted from 6:40 AM to 6:35 AM to accommodate students commuting from Nanshi Village to Guangfu Junior High School and Guangfu Elementary School. In addition, the 282 secondary line, which operates between Asia University's Ando Museum and Tonglin, will be rerouted to include parts of Lane 559 on Dingtai Road, adding new stops at Alley 100 of Lane 559, Tangcuo, and Jinlong Fish Pond. The section between Yixing and Beishi communities will now be served by the 282 main line only. Adjustments to the schedule include an increase in the main line's weekday trips from 28 to 32, and weekend trips from 16 to 20, while the secondary line will operate from 10 to 8 trips daily, both on weekdays and weekends. These adjustments are aimed at improving public transport in Wufeng District. For further information about the 282 main and secondary lines, passengers can visit the Taichung Bus Information System (http://citybus.taichung.gov.tw/ebus) or download the Taichung Bus app from the Transportation Bureau’s official website (https://is.gd/MTPvdg).
