New Route in Fengyuan! Bus 901 V-2 to Serve Tianxin, Fengtian, and Ji-Jie Special District Starting December 1

Taichung Mayor Lu Hsiu-yen has spearheaded the development of four major transfer stations, with the Fengyuan Transfer Station in Fengyuan District being the first to start operations. The opening of the Fengtan section of National Freeway 4 has spurred a population surge in the area. To enhance public transport accessibility, the Transportation Bureau will adjust Bus Route 901 V-2 starting December 1. The adjusted route will now pass through Yuren Road and Fengnan Street, reaching deeper into Tianxin and Fengtian villages. This adjustment aims to address residents' commuting, school, and medical transportation needs, providing seamless connectivity. The service frequency will also be increased from 2 to 12 daily trips, extending benefits to the Ji-Jie Special District community in Beitun District.
Transportation Bureau Director Yeh Chao-fu highlighted Fengyuan District's role as Taichung’s secondary urban hub and noted Mayor Lu's emphasis on its key infrastructure projects. With the dense population in Tianxin and Fengtian villages near the Yangming Building of the Taichung City Government in Fengyuan District driving higher public transport demand, the Bureau assessed the area's bus routes to downtown areas of Taichung. These routes ran along Fengxing Road and lacked connections to major transport hubs like the Zhongshan-Beitun Road corridor or Tanzi District. To better serve local residents' needs for commuting, schooling, and medical visits, the Bureau coordinated with Taichung Bus Company to adjust the 901 V-2 route. This ensures that public transportation is convenient and accessible where residents need it most, providing services aligned with public demand.
According to the Transportation Bureau, the 901 V-2 bus route currently operates two daily trips along Dunfu Road in Beitun District, primarily catering to students in the Ji-Jie Special District traveling to Peihsin Junior High School and Qiao-Xiao Elementary School. With the completion and occupancy of more residential buildings in the area driving increased demand for public transportation, the Bureau worked with Taichung Bus Company to reallocate transport resources. As part of the route adjustments, more trips from the original direct Route 901-Fu along Beitun Road have been shifted to Route 901 V-2 along Dunfu Road, balancing the transportation needs of Fengyuan District’s Tianxin and Fengtian villages with those of the Ji-Jie Special District.
The Transportation Bureau added that information about the 901 V-2 bus route adjustment is available on the Taichung City Information System website (http://citybus.taichung.gov.tw/ebus) or through the official Taichung Bus app. For inquiries, you can contact the free citizen hotline at 1999.
