Stay Calm: Avoid provoking the offender and try to help him/her calm down as well, to prevent escalating the situation.
Protect Yourself: Focus on protecting vital body areas, especially the head, face, neck, chest, and abdomen.
Call for Help Loudly: Shout phrases like “Fire!” to draw attention from others.
Escape Quickly: Leave the scene and go to a safe place. Seek help from neighbors or contact a local Sexual Assault Prevention Center for assistance.
Find the Police: Visit a police station to report the incident, or call “110” or “113” for assistance in arranging medical care or accessing a shelter.
Remember the offender’s features.
Preserve the scene. Do not move or touch any items at the scene.
Wear additional clothing such as a coat or jacket, but do not change the clothes you are wearing.
Do not clean the vagina to facilitate the collection of the offender’s hair or semen.
Visit a medical facility immediately for treatment and injury assessment to collect evidence.
