As 2025 draws near, the Taichung City Government's Tourism and Travel Bureau has highlighted 28 key attractions and published a travel guide titled FUN! Taichung, Explore Taichung from A to Z. This guide, available in multiple languages—including Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, Thai, and Vietnamese—can be downloaded from Taichung’s Tourism and Travel Bureau website or borrowed from major libraries in the city. It's the perfect way to plan a trip to Taichung in the coming year! Moreover, the Bureau has selected stunning images from the guide and produced a 2025 electronic calendar featuring Taichung’s scenic spots, available for download on the same website, so the public can enjoy the beauty of Taichung all year long.
Director Chen Mei-hsiu of the Tourism and Travel Bureau noted that after the success of the 2019 publication Taichung 29 Districts’ Scenic Views, the new FUN! Taichung, Explore Taichung from A to Z now features 92 attractions. It showcases the seasonal beauty, historic landmarks, and new attractions from across all 29 districts in Taichung. Notably, this guide organizes its chapters according to the English alphabetical order of different attraction categories, so when you open the guide, you will not find the traditional region-based introduction. Instead, you'll encounter a more diverse, comprehensive, and creative perspective for exploring the attractions of Taichung.
Director Chen added that to help visitors easily understand what to see, do, and how to enjoy Taichung, the “Four Seasons in Taichung” section introduces the city's exciting seasonal tourism events and representative attractions. In spring, you can visit Wuling for cherry blossoms and enjoy the Central Taiwan Lantern Festival; in summer, you can cool off at Daan Seaside Paradise or ride bikes along trails; in autumn, you can immerse in arts and cultural events like the Taichung International Dance Carnival and the Taichung Jazz Festival; and in winter, you can relax at hot springs in the mountains or admire the Sea of Flowers in Xinshe. Additionally, the guide covers the city’s convenient public transportation and sightseeing buses, offering visitors an easier, faster way to explore Taichung.
The Tourism and Travel Bureau noted that this guide uses an innovative approach by organizing attractions alphabetically in English, with 28 categories such as “Architecture,” “Bike,” “Creative,” and “Culture,” covering 92 well-known spots like Da'an Gong Mazu Cultural Park and new attractions like Huanshan Hunters’ Hiking Trail. The aim is to provide a new perspective, guiding tourists through Taichung's diverse landscapes—from mountains to the sea and from urban areas to the countryside. Each attraction is presented with brief descriptions and beautiful photos, along with small maps and QR codes for easy access to more information. The guide concludes with itineraries based on three major themes: Tour Bus, Bikeways, and Hiking Trails, allowing visitors to enjoy Taichung thoroughly and become experts in the city's tourism.
Additionally, the Tourism and Travel Bureau has released the 2025 Taichung Attractions Electronic Calendar, which showcases iconic spots like Gaomei Wetland, the National Taichung Theater, and newer landmarks such as Taichung Central Park and the “Hand of the Giant” at Xueshankeng Hiking Trail. Beautiful photos from four major areas—mountains, seas, Tun District, and urban—were carefully selected for each month, allowing viewers to enjoy different scenic views throughout the year. The calendar can be downloaded for free from Taichung’s Tourism and Travel Bureau website, allowing users to set it as a phone wallpaper or print it for personal use.
The newly released travel guide FUN! Taichung, Explore Taichung from A to Z is available for PDF download or online reading on Taichung’s Tourism and Travel Bureau website. The Chinese version can also be borrowed from libraries around Taichung. Welcome to dive deeper into Taichung’s unlimited appeal and prepare for an exciting year ahead in the city.
