The 2025 Taichung New Year's Countdown Party - Snakes Bringing Happiness will take place with a spectacular concert at Taichung Central Park in the Shuinan Trade and Economic Park. At today’s (19th) press conference, the impressive all-star lineup was revealed, along with a special performance by the duo “GX,” featuring GBOYSWAG and Xiao Bing-chih. Their dynamic show energized the crowd and made the atmosphere electrifying! According to Director Luan Chih-i of Taichung’s Information Bureau, this year’s countdown party boasts a stellar roster of local and international performers. It’s even noteworthy that Tanya Chua, a Golden Melody Award-winning singer adored throughout the Chinese-speaking world, will be there, along with a stunning 180-second fireworks show. Everyone across Taiwan is invited to make Taichung their destination for ringing in the New Year!
Deputy Mayor Cheng Chao-hsin noted that while Taipei Dome offers a big indoor stage, Taichung Central Park stands out as a magnificent outdoor venue. Having worked with Taichung’s New Year’s Eve concert for many years, Ken Lin has honed a distinctive hosting style, even earning the opportunity to host Jay Chou’s concert at Taipei Dome. It is truly an honor to have Ken Lin return as a host for this year’s celebration.
Director Luan noted that last year’s New Year’s Countdown Party drew 240,000 attendees and topped online traffic rankings for four consecutive years. This year’s event promises to be even better, boasting an enhanced lineup of top-tier domestic and international performers, as well as the surprise addition of Tanya Chua, the Golden Melody Award-winning superstar. It will surely be a joyful countdown party for everyone. The party kicks off with warm-up performances at 6 PM, followed by the main concert at 7 PM. The star-studded lineup features South Korea’s “OST Fairy” Whee In, Taiwan’s renowned band Accusefive, rising boy group Ozone, and the Golden Melody Award-winning band Flesh Juicer, promising nonstop excitement throughout the party.
Director Luan also said that Taichung’s New Year’s Eve concert continues to draw immense attention each year, and this year’s event is set to raise the bar once again. Under Mayor Lu’s guidance, every edition of the event strives for greater excellence, ensuring each celebration surpasses the previous one. The 2025 Taichung New Year's Countdown Party has three key highlights: an all-star lineup of performers, Taiwan’s largest outdoor venue for a countdown party, and a stunning180-second fireworks show to count down to the Year of the Snake, making it a night to remember.
The Information Bureau noted that hosting duties will be led by the duo of Ken Lin and Golden Bell Award winner Gladys Tsai. The party will open with a high-energy performance by local favorites Nine One One. After the countdown, fans will be treated to a performance by the beloved boy band W0LF(S) to welcome the New Year. As midnight approaches, two headlining performances will take center stage: Taiwan’s acclaimed band Accusefive with a special playlist, and Whee In of the renowned K-pop group MAMAMOO, who has promised a surprise for her Taiwanese fans, ensuring an unforgettable evening for all.
For transportation, the event venue’s proximity to an MRT station makes it convenient for attendees to combine MRT travel with a short walk. The city government will set up a pedestrian-only pathway along Gansu Road, with traffic control measures in place to ensure safety. Visitors are kindly asked to follow police instructions patiently.
Transportation Bureau Director Yeh Chao-fu added that three free shuttle routes—the City Government Line, Songzhu Line, and Shuinan Line—will be available to make transfer more convenient. In alignment of the event schedule, shuttle services from each stop to the venue will run from 5:30 PM to 11:00 PM, while return trips from the venue will operate from 10:00 PM to 1:30 AM the next day. Buses will depart every 10 to 15 minutes, depending on passenger load or schedule. Attendees are encouraged to take full advantage of the services.
Additionally, the venue provides ample car and scooter parking lots on both its north and south sides. There are also parking spaces available near the Fengjia Night Market and along the MRT route, offering a total of approximately 9,000 car spaces and 5,400 scooter spaces. However, parking is limited, so attendees are encouraged to plan ahead by downloading the “Taichung Traffic” app. By navigating to the “Parking Near Attractions” section or searching “Taichung New Year's Countdown Party Real-Time Traffic,” visitors can check available parking spots. They can also scan the QR code to visit a dedicated website for real-time updates on parking availability. The website further provides live traffic camera views, shuttle bus details, and a comprehensive transportation guide. Attendees are encouraged to use public transport to get to the event.
