Easier Campus Commutes for Providence University Students! Bus Route 301 Adds Trips, Route 308 Expands to North and East Districts Starting February 10

Taking the bus to and from school has never been more convenient! To better accommodate the commuting needs of Providence University students, the Transportation Bureau of the Taichung City Government has coordinated with Ubus to enhance service efficiency. Starting February 10, Bus Route 301 will increase its frequency, including a new departure from Xinguang Village at 8:30 AM, allowing students attending the third and fourth class periods to take the bus directly into campus. Additionally, Route 308 (including its branch and detour lines) will adjust its route to better serve the North and East districts along Jingwu Road, with new bus stops added. These improvements will strengthen connections between the city’s bus network and railway transfers, further enhancing Taichung’s public transportation system. Transportation Bureau Director-General Yeh Chao-fu stated that the bureau continues to evaluate bus networks across the city to improve commuting convenience for Providence University students and Shalu District residents traveling to and from downtown. This year, adjustments have also been made to optimize bus transfers between Jingwu Station and various locations, including Xinfu Village in Taiping District, the East District, and North District along Jingwu Road. After reviewing the operational status of Routes 301 and 308 with Ubus, the new schedule and route changes have been finalized. Route 301 will see an increase in service frequency, while Route 308 (including its branch and detour lines) will have revised routes to improve campus access and railway transfers. With the new semester approaching, bus services are expanding! Starting February 10, Route 301 will add an 8:30 AM departure from Xinguang Village, providing students with more convenient transportation for classes later in the morning. Additionally, a 9:45 AM departure from Providence University has been added to improve railway transfer connections at Jingwu Station. Route 308 (including its branch and detour lines) will be rerouted from its previous route along Sanmin Road and Xinmin High School in the North District to instead run along Jingwu Road toward Taiping District. New stops will include Jingwu-Shuangshi Intersection, Cihang Temple, Jingwu-Jinhua Intersection, Jingwu Station (Jingwu Road), Xinguang Village (Zhongshan Road), Xinfu Village (Xinfu Road), and Xinguang Village (Xinfu Road). While the number of daily bus schedules remains unchanged, these changes will expand public transportation coverage in the North and East districts, particularly along Jingwu Road between Shuangshi Road and Jinhua Road. The Transportation Bureau reminds passengers that up-to-date information on Routes 301 and 308 (including branch and detour lines) can be found on the Taichung City Bus Information System website ( http://citybus.taichung.gov.tw/ebus ) or by downloading the official "Taichung Bus" app from the Transportation Bureau website ( https://is.gd/MTPvdg ). For any inquiries, passengers can call the city’s toll-free 1999 citizen hotline. Members of the public are encouraged to take advantage of these enhanced services!
