The Guihuaquan Hiking Trail, a new attraction in Taichung's Dajia Tiezhushan Scenic Area, is now open! The Tourism and Travel Bureau of the Taichung City Government noted that the trail will showcase a vibrant spring bloom in May, with the “Path of the Forest” lined with the beloved tung flowers. Welcome everyone to take a leisurely walk along the trail at Tiezhushan, enjoy the blooming flowers, and experience a pleasing floral feast.
Director Chen Mei-xiu of the Tourism and Travel Bureau noted that the Guihuaquan Hiking Trail in Dajia Tiezhushan is now embracing the first flower season after its renovation completed at the end of last year. The trail is surrounded by the tung flowers on tree branches, the pink blooms of orchid trees scattered in the forest, the sweet-scented yellow sweet osmanthus, and the striking peach bougainvillea. Looking down, visitors can also spot the bright yellow flowers of Taiwan's native dandelions. The beauty is truly overwhelming!
According to the Tourism and Travel Bureau, the Guihuaquan Hiking Trail is divided into four routes: the Stream Path, Mountain Path (Mountain Ridge Path, Mountain Osmanthus Path), Garden Path, and Forest Path. On the Stream Path, visitors can admire small flowers blooming along the trail and explore local poetic works. The Mountain Path is home to blooming orchid trees and osmanthus flowers, providing a uniquely pleasant sensory experience. The Garden Path features a garden-like arrangement of flowers, with the vibrant peach bougainvillea standing out the most. The Forest Path is the prime route for admiring tung flowers, offering a pristine and comfortable walking experience. Along the Guihuaquan Hiking Trail, there are also various informational signs that share insights into the history, culture, nature, geography, and ecology of Tiezhushan. Welcome to embark on an intellectual journey.
The Scenic Area Administration Office noted that the Guihuaquan Hiking Trail entrance is easy to locate, situated next to Miaofa Temple, just a short distance from the Dajia Tiezhushan Scenic Area entrance. The trail is suitable for families and is 1.45 kilometers long, taking about one hour to walk the full route. Visitors are encouraged to set aside 1 to 2 hours to enjoy the flowers and take pictures at a relaxed pace.
The Scenic Area Administration Office added that there are several ways to get to the Guihuaquan Hiking Trail. In addition to driving, visitors can also take public buses. From the Taichung High-Speed Rail Station, take Bus 93 and disembark at Tiezhushan. Alternatively, from Dajia Station (Zhongshan Road), buses such as 813 B, 181, 659, 661 Right Loop, 662, and 668 all stop at Tiezhushan. Plan a visit this May to experience the flowers at Dajia Tiezhushan's Guihuaquan Hiking Trail!
