Shuttle, Shopping, and Performances in One Stop! Fengyuan Transfer Center Connects Popular Spots of the Flower Carpet Festival

Fengyuan Transfer Center serves as a key transportation hub for transfers to the mountain districts. During the blooming season of the Xinshe Flower Sea and the Taichung International Flower Carpet Festival, which kicked off on November 8, it carries the important responsibility of operating the free shuttle service “Fengyuan Line.” Passengers can board and alight at Platform 6 (adjacent to Fengyang Road) of Fengyuan Transfer Center, where convenient parking services are also available. During the festival period, the Taichung City Government’s Transportation Bureau has organized a food-truck market and a captivating performance by the Sunshine Visually Impaired Orchestra. In addition, a fitness center located on the second floor offers visitors a place to enjoy a good workout. Welcome people from across Taiwan to make full use of these services and enjoy a delightful flower-viewing trip to the mountain region.
Transportation Bureau Director Yeh Chao-Fu noted that this year’s Flower Carpet Festival features the globally renowned animated series The Powerpuff Girls as its main theme, presenting a variety of exclusive themed installations and exhibition halls. The flower zone spans two hectares, blending fashionable cartoon elements with natural floral arrangements to create a visually stunning and creatively designed sea of flowers. The landscaped areas also incorporate a wide range of seasonal flowers and grain crops, complemented by surrounding agritourism farms, guesthouses, and fruit-picking markets, allowing visitors to experience the charm of the mountain region in various ways. To ensure convenient access for the public, traffic control measures will be implemented around the venue throughout the event period. The Transportation Bureau has arranged three weekday shuttle bus routes—the Fengyuan Line, Songzhu Line, and Taiyuan Line—and will add the Dongshi Line and the Venue Circular Line (an internal loop within the exhibition area) on weekends to enhance transportation capacity. Among these, the “Fengyuan Line” starts and ends at Fengyuan Transfer Center, connecting the Fengyuan metropolitan area with the Xinshe Flower Sea venue and providing visitors with convenient and efficient transportation services.
Director Yeh noted that in addition to handling shuttle services for the Flower Carpet Festival, Fengyuan Transfer Center has this year introduced the innovative idea of “Fengyuan Transfer Corridor,” integrating transportation, leisure, art, and fitness functions to create a new landmark for both visitors and local residents. The center also features a comfortable fitness facility, providing travelers and community members with a high-quality space for exercise. Comprehensive parking services are available as well, with 301 car parking spaces and 849 scooter spaces, making it convenient for visitors to transfer to the shuttle buses bound for the Flower Carpet Festival. This supports the ideal of “enjoying the flowers without driving—easy and eco-friendly,” offering the most convenient choice for festivalgoers.
According to the Transportation Bureau, Fengyuan Transfer Center will present a festive carnival during the event period. From November 8 to 11, November 14 to 18, November 21 to 25, and November 28 to 30, a series of performing arts groups will take turns on stage for four consecutive weeks. Performances will include band shows, guitar and vocal sessions, Chinese flute recitals, and the Sunshine Visually Impaired Orchestra, allowing passengers waiting for buses to enjoy a rich artistic and musical ambiance. A themed food-truck market will also be set up on-site, bringing together a variety of local delicacies and specialty snacks to add even more flavor to visitors’ flower-viewing journeys.
Director Yeh remarked that Fengyuan Transfer Center is not only a transportation hub but also an important venue for promoting local tourism and cultural activities. The Transportation Bureau will continue to support festival events, arts performances, and shuttle services, showcasing the center’s multifaceted value while stimulating the local economy and tourism. Visitors from across Taiwan are invited to Taichung to enjoy the flower displays, explore the markets, and experience live music, all within the “Fengyuan Transfer Corridor,” where they can savor food, entertainment, shopping, and fitness in a one-stop, well-rounded experience, immersing in the charm and hospitality of Taichung’s mountain region.
