For many people, there’s always a gentle and enduring place in their childhood memories for Jimmy Liao’s works. Through images that appear simple yet carry profound meaning, his creations portray moments of solitude, companionship, and the courage to move forward, accompanying countless individuals at different stages of life and helping them find a personal outlet for the soul. The Taichung City Government’s Cultural Affairs Bureau noted that this Lunar New Year, the emotional resonance once found between the pages of books will be brought to life as a wondrous fantasy world at Wenxin Forest Park.
The “2026 Taichung FOCASA x Jimmy Circus Park” will open on the third day of the Lunar New Year (February 19). The event will run from February 19 to 21 and again over the 228 holiday from February 27 to March 1, spanning two consecutive weekends, with daily hours from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Admission to Wenxin Forest Park is free, offering a daily lineup of exciting experiences! The Park centers on Jimmy Liao’s distinctive visual language and narrative style and, for the first time, integrates contemporary circus arts. It transforms the emotionally rich and imaginative world of his picture books into a tangible, immersive, and interactive experience. Through the spatial design and atmosphere of the circus-themed park, the stories are no longer merely read—they are “experienced.”
The Cultural Affairs Bureau explained that the Park is personally directed and curated by renowned artistic director Lin Hwai-min. Drawing on his extensive experience in stage arts and spatial aesthetics, Lin has conducted comprehensive planning covering the overall concept, venue layout, and audience experience. His approach infuses the circus performances with narrative depth and emotional layers, creating a city festival park that blends artistic sophistication with entertainment. Daily activities feature 13 diverse performances, including circus tent shows, pop-up circus acts, and stilt-walker flash performances. Visitors can also enjoy a family-friendly circus adventure zone and Jimmy Liao-inspired installations, allowing the public to fully immerse in the wonder and excitement of the circus at Wenxin Forest Park.
The Cultural Affairs Bureau added that the adventure and daring spirit embodied by the circus mirror the anticipation and hope brought by the New Year. Coinciding with the Lunar Year of the Horse, the FOCASA x Jimmy Circus Park offers an ideal destination for families to celebrate the holiday together. The public is invited to bring their children to Wenxin Forest Park during the Lunar New Year holiday, where they can create cherished family memories amid circus performances, interactive experiences, and the enchanting stories of Jimmy Liao.
