The much loved annual "Happy Fur Baby Life Courses" are now open for registration. The courses will be held throughout this year’s summer vacation at venues including the Houli Campus of the Taichung City Animal Shelter and Fantasystory Green Ray. A total of 10 courses with diverse themes have been planned, covering picture book reading, hands on creative activities, and animal welfare issues. Whether participants are children who love animals, prospective pet owners considering keeping a pet, or members of the public who care about animal welfare, everyone can find suitable content in this series of courses. The public is welcome to join with family and friends, learn animal protection knowledge, and become good companions to animals.
The Taichung City Animal Protection and Health Inspection Office stated that, in modern society, the relationship between people and animals is becoming increasingly close. Whether they are pets that accompany people in daily life, economic animals that provide what people need, or wild animals that coexist with humans, how to live with them in a friendly and sustainable way has become an important field of study in contemporary society. To this end, the annual courses are designed for different age groups, with rich and diverse content. These include picture book reading and an animal emotion theater suitable for parents and children to join together, as well as short performances on animal protection. Courses for older participants include drawing one’s own fur baby, animal collage art, braided charms, wool felt handicrafts, and making dolls from recycled fabric. Through hands on creation, the courses deepen the emotional bond between people and animals.
In addition, animation appreciation sessions about fur babies and lectures on economic animal welfare education have also been arranged, leading the public to understand animal related issues from different perspectives and to consider how to put the ideas of respect for life and friendly pet keeping into practice in daily life.
The Office stated that animal protection should not remain only a slogan, but should instead be integrated into everyday life. Through this diverse course design, the Office hopes to help the concept of caring for animals take root and continue to grow in the hearts of participants, thereby promoting a friendly city in which people and animals live in harmony. All annual courses are open for online registration, with registration opening two months before each course begins. Places are limited, and interested members of the public are encouraged to seize the opportunity and sign up.
