To promote the cultural landscape of Guangfu New Village and the distinctive character of its youth entrepreneurship base, the Labor Affairs Bureau of Taichung City Government will hold the 2026 Strolling Through Guangfu Village: Cultural Exploration Festival from May 30 to June 7. Through a variety of formats including real world puzzle solving, cultural exploration, shop interactions, and social media sharing, the event invites the public to wander through the lanes of Guangfu New Village and rediscover the site’s historical culture and youthful entrepreneurial energy through a series of challenges. The event will also be held in conjunction with Young Market on May 30 and 31. By combining the crowds drawn by the market with the distinctive character of the youth brand cluster, the program will create a holiday experience that blends cultural exploration with everyday lifestyle experiences.
Shu-Yuan Lin, Director of the Labor Affairs Bureau of Taichung City Government, stated that Guangfu New Village is not only an important cultural landscape in Taichung, but also a youth entrepreneurship base under the Taichung Youth Dream Project. Bringing together a diverse range of cultural and creative brands and youth startup shops, the park has developed into a unique cluster that combines historical atmosphere with creative vitality. Taking village strolling and exploration as its concept, the event uses gamified design to guide the public in exploring Guangfu New Village in a deeper and more engaging way.
The Labor Affairs Bureau noted that during the event period, members of the public may pick up a puzzle card and event map at the Guangfu New Village Service Center booth at Young Market. Following the clues, participants can visit designated shops to complete interactive tasks and take check in photos at 15 featured cultural landscape sites throughout the park. After completing the designated tasks and uploading photos and sharing them on the Facebook fan page of the Taichung City Youth One-Stop Entrepreneur Service Station, participants may return to the service center to join a capsule toy prize draw.
The Labor Affairs Bureau also explained that more than 2,200 prizes have been prepared for this event, including cultural and creative products, handmade items, and specialty meal vouchers provided by youth entrepreneurs, as well as limited edition campaign merchandise such as Little Stone IP stickers and acrylic keychains. After completing the tasks, participants will also receive one raffle ticket for the final drawing, with prizes including an iPad 11 and commemorative EasyCards. The lucky winners are scheduled to be drawn publicly on June 8.
The Labor Affairs Bureau stated that the event also introduces an original mascot, Little Stone, a little black dog who lives in Guangfu New Village, loves exploring, and has the ability to find special stones. The character echoes the core spirit of puzzle solving and exploration. Through the event, the Bureau hopes to lead the public in experiencing the cultural depth of Guangfu New Village and the vitality of youth entrepreneurship, while creating rich and memorable travel experiences.
