To show care for the foreign friends working hard in Taichung and to promote their physical and mental well being as well as healthy leisure activities, the Labor Affairs Bureau of Taichung City Government will continue to hold its Recreational Program for Foreign Workers this year. The event will take place at Lihpao Resort in Houli, a destination much loved by foreign friends. A total of five sessions will be held, beginning on July 19 and followed by additional sessions on August 2, August 16, August 30, and September 6. The event is completely free of charge. From now on, foreign nationals who are legally employed in Taichung, together with employers and management personnel, are warmly invited to register and join the event.
The Labor Affairs Bureau stated that this year’s event has been thoughtfully upgraded in its program design. For the first time, participants may choose between the water park Mala Bay and the land park Discovery World, allowing foreign friends to select according to their personal preferences, whether that means enjoying thrilling land based rides or heading to Mala Bay to cool off amid splashing summer fun. The event also combines cross cultural exchange with practical legal and everyday life information sessions, and offers beautifully prepared gifts for prize quizzes. Through the program, participants from Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, and other countries will be able to relax fully after work, expand their social networks, and enjoy a cheerful summer experience.
Shu-Yuan Lin, Director of the Labor Affairs Bureau of Taichung City Government, stated that Taichung is currently home to more than 110,000 foreign workers, who are indispensable partners in both industrial development and family care. Through continued optimization and innovation in recreational activities, the city government hopes that these international friends who have traveled far to work in Taichung will feel the care and importance the city places on them outside of work. For this event, the Labor Affairs Bureau has also carefully arranged shuttle transportation and multilingual support staff, while actively inviting employers, labor brokers, and management personnel to participate together in order to witness Taichung’s friendliness, diversity, and inclusiveness.
The Labor Affairs Bureau added that it will continue to provide foreign workers with a wide range of services, including legal consultation, language courses, empowerment training, and participation in cultural activities, so that they may work smoothly, live happily, and feel secure in their daily lives in Taichung. Those interested in joining or helping promote this event may contact Ms. Chen of the Taiwan Federation of Labor Union at 04-22423311. Registration information is also available in the event information section of the Labor Affairs Bureau of Taichung City Government website or on the event page at https://forms.gle/Euz6KGK4rQ9EfQGw5. Spaces are limited, and everyone is welcome to invite foreign friends around them to sign up as soon as possible.
