Come explore the coastal Taichung with Mazu! Held in celebration of the completion of the Mazu statue, the “2026 Taichung Ocean Sightseeing Season” will make its grand debut from October 3 to 4 at Da’an Port Mazu Cultural Park. With three major highlights, Ten Drum Art Percussion Group, Ming Hwa Yuan Arts & Cultural Group, and the Hi-An Festival, the event is set to take coastal Taichung’s autumn celebrations to a new high.

Tourism and Travel Bureau Director Mei-Hsiu Chen said Da’an Port Mazu Cultural Park, a long-awaited coastal Taichung landmark 14 years in the making, will hold the Mazu statue completion and donation ceremony along with the event opening ceremony at 10 a.m. on October 3 (Saturday). A wide range of activities has also been planned, inviting people from across Taiwan to have fun in Taichung and discover the coastal area’s most eye-catching tourism landmark. This year’s Taichung Ocean Sightseeing Season is packed with highlights, featuring national treasure-level performing groups. On October 3, Ten Drum Art Percussion Group will present the powerful drumming performance “Drum Sea Pilgrimage”, while Ming Hwa Yuan Arts & Cultural Group will stage the classic production “The Great Immortal of Penglai” that evening. Through a striking blend of traditional arts, visuals, lighting, and sound, the performances will showcase extraordinary charm and cultural energy.

On October 4 (Sunday), the event will switch to a music festival format popular with young people, with the Hi-An Festival connecting the celebration through live music. The music festival will feature a lineup of well-known bands and talented singers performing live in succession. More exciting names in the star-studded lineup will be announced soon. The event will also feature a lively “Outdoor Cultural and Creative Market”, specialty food stalls, and, in Taichung, a city famous for pastries, an unmissable “Pastry Market”. Bringing together classic local brands, the market lets visitors take home plenty of gifts in one stop without having to search all over the city.

The Scenic Area Management Office, Tourism and Travel Bureau, Taichung City Government added that refined “Tea Tasting” and “Wine Tasting” experiences will also be offered over the two-day event. Featuring high-quality local teas and fine wines from distinctive Taichung wineries, the sessions will be led by professional instructors, allowing participants to savor Taichung’s many charms and enjoy a relaxing afternoon by the sound of the waves.
