Domestic Violence Prevention

Domestic violence is any physically or mentally illegal acts of violence to family members.

A family member defined in Domestic Violence Prevention Act includes the following members and their minors:

  1. Spouse or former spouse.
  2. Persons with an existing or former cohabitation relationship, a relationship between a householder and household members or a relationship between household members.
  3. Persons with an existing or former relationship between lineal relatives by blood.
  4. Persons with an existing or former relationship between collateral relatives by blood within four degrees of kinship.
  5. Spouses of persons with an existing or former relationship between relatives by blood within four degrees of kinship.
  6. Persons with an existing or former relationship between relatives by blood within four degrees of kinship of a spouse.
  7. Spouses of persons with an existing or former relationship between relatives by blood within four degrees of kinship of a spouse.
