Paying Your Electricity Bill

In Taiwan, electric current runs on 110 volts and 60 cycles. Electricity is charged per kilowatt hour, and it increases with the volume consumed, thereby making electricity charges relatively high. Also, during the summer months (from June to September), the charges increase per unit used. Having an electric water heating system and the use of air conditioning would further increase your power bill.

Electricity bills can be paid at most chain convenience stores such as 7-11, OK and Family Mart. They can also be paid at banks, post offices or the gas company. You can also arrange to have automatic payments deducted directly from your bank account.Payments are due within seven days of billing, late payments can only be made at the Taiwan Power Company.
