I.	Taichung City Government (herein refer to the Government） has conducted basic language ability and citizen rights and obligation, and common sense exam for naturalization（herein refer to the Exam）; therefore, this essentials is issued.
II.	The Exam is conducted by all household registration offices in Taichung city（herein refer to the City）in every 2 months; the dates will be arranged by the Government.
III.	The Exam includes oral test and written test with 20 questions respectively, and the exam time is 30 minutes per test. The examiners shall participate in one of each：
	（A）	Oral Test：The test is composed by essay questions, and should be answered in either Chinese, Taiwanese, Hakka, or Taiwanese aboriginal language.
	（B）	The exam taker should prepare the following documents and pay NTD500 exam fee to any household registration office in the City, and the exam should be completed at the applying office：
	（A）	Alien Resident Permit, or copy of Alien Permanent Resident Certificate.
	（B）	1 piece of 2” colorful photo without wearing hat.
V.	The exam fee shall be further submitted to the Government, and the office should provide invoice to the applicant. After the document is examined to be qualified, the department should key-in the basic information of the applicant into naturalization exam system, and print out the application for applicant to review and sign. When the exam time and location is determined, the department should deliver notice letter to the applicant within 2 weeks.
VI.	When the document is examined as insufficient, the department should notify the applicant to complete within 3 days; the uncompleted document will be denied with refund fee.
VII.	The examiners should be supervisors in any household registration office or relevant experts.
VIII.	Before the exam, the department with the company of staff from Dept. of Government Ethics will randomly choose the exam questions from the naturalization system, then print out the exam paper and answer sheet, and then seal for ready to use.
VIIII.	The exchange and reissue of the Exam result should be conducted by the Department with the collect of NTD50 to the Government, and then provide invoice to the applicant.
XV.	The required application form, Exam paper, evaluation form and answer sheet should be in the format prescribed in the Basic Language Ability, Citizen Rights and Obligation, and Common Sense of Naturalization Exam Essentials.
XVI.	The standard procedure for naturalization exam and for the examiners is in the attached.
XVII.	Supervising Fee：
	（A）	Oral test： The supervising fee for each exam taker, including the markings, is NTD200.
	（B）	Written Test：The supervising fee for each exam taker, including the markings, is NTD50.
	（C）	The Government staff acting as oral or written test examiner during office hour should not be double-dipped with supervising fee.
