National Day
National Day

The Republic of China's National Day is celebrated each day on October 10, resulting in it widely being referred to as "Double 10" in English and Chinese. October 10, 1911 saw the beginning of the Chinese revolution which led to the founding of the ROC and demise of the Ching Dynasty. The largest National Day celebrations usually take place around the Presidential Office Building in Taipei with parades, folk performances and other displays, such as dragon and lion dances. In Taichung, the day is also usually marked with large fireworks displays and other festivities.

Another national holiday, Founding Day of the ROC marks the Republic's foundation on January 1, 1912.
