Experience Taiwan's first space-themed circus show in Taichung and elevate your summer excitement! The Taichung City Government’s Cultural Affairs Bureau, in collaboration with Formosa Circus Art (FOCA), is organizing the first Taichung Summer Circus Festival. This event will grandly take place on August 24 and 25 at the Wen-Xin Forest Park and the Fulfillment Amphitheater. For the first time, a large circus tent will be set up in the park, offering fun for all. It will have six themed areas, including a DJ party and a market. Everyone is invited to join the festivities.
The Cultural Affairs Bureau announced that on August 24 and 25, starting at 2 PM, the Wen-Xin Forest Park will be the place to be for exclusive circus performances, large-scale parties, circus activities, and a circus market. The "Village Chief's Grocery Store" and "Romantic Summer Market" will kick off with excitement, inviting people of all ages to become juggling experts. The "High-Flying Experience Area" will offer swinging and high-flying activities, while the "Breeze Stage" will feature impressive kendama and circus performances, and a vintage summer DJ show. Also, don't miss the chance to interact with the Dream-seeking Giant in the park. With two days packed with circus fun, this is an event you won't want to miss!
At 7 PM, the Fulfillment Amphitheater will present Taiwan's first-ever immersive space-themed circus show, Let’s Go! Space! This marks Formosa Circus Art's debut in large-scale outdoor performances, turning the amphitheater into a giant space station. The show breaks traditional stage boundaries by reaching into the audience, blending circus arts, dance, parties, and interactive elements. The audience will be invited to join the fun as astronauts, embarking on a thrilling galactic adventure.
According to the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Let’s Go! Space! features three key themes: Doomsday Crisis, Space Exploration, and Unified Rebirth, echoing the global warming issue. The performance opens with dancers from the Department of Dance, National Taiwan University of Sport, performing the "Doomsday Crisis" up close to the audience, creating an apocalyptic atmosphere. Next, the FOCA team will present the "Space Exploration" circus show, showcasing challenging juggling, Cyr wheel, aerial performances, and acrobatics. The final act, "Unified Rebirth," brings together the 44 Bit Records DJ team, circus performers, and dancers to lead the audience in a space disco party!
The Cultural Affairs Bureau noted that the first Taichung Summer Circus Festival offers more than just the main event at the Fulfillment Amphitheater; the Wen-Xin Forest Park will also host a variety of circus activities and a market, keeping the excitement going from morning until night.
