“This year’s exhibition theme, ‘Art Roaming Together,’ is more than just a title; it promotes a lifestyle of exploring culture and integrating technology,” noted curator Wang Po-Wei. By integrating local culture with technology and art, Wang aims to use technology as a key medium for sharing human spirit and stories, hoping to resonate with participants and provide daily inspiration. According to the Taichung City Tun District Art Center, the Telling Tent’s “Niaorongtou Journal” will turn local stories, unique culture, and interpersonal relations into interactive scripts, with actors guiding the audience through outdoor story-themed areas. Additionally, previous events like the “Speaker Sound Creation” and Tsai Yi-Ju’s “A Dialogue of Body, Music, Technology” workshop will enrich the “Niaorongtou Journal” performance, adding more layers to its narrative.
On November 3, internationally acclaimed digital artist Wang Lien-Chang will present a talk titled “Creation in the Age of Technology: From Interactive Installations to Sound Performances, Exploring Art in Artificial Intelligence.” This event will provide a casual and engaging opportunity to discuss how digital technology can be integrated into art. Additionally, on November 24, the technology incubator will feature The Loose Moose Theatre performing “Kepler’s N ≒ Illusion Dependence Law.” This performance will showcase interactions between performers, large inflatable setups, and sound, creating a visually striking representation of emotional dynamics. Tickets for the Incubator’s performances and lectures will be available online through ACCUPASS starting September 9. Everyone is welcome to attend.
The Tun District Art and Culture Center also noted that “Niaorongtou” is an old name for Taichung's Taiping District. The new “Niaorongtou Journal” project owes its rich artistic narrative to local artist Hsieh Tung-Liang, who assisted with field investigation. To foster cultural equity and build art communities, the music interactive workshop will also feature collaborations with the Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation (Central Branch) and the Taiwan Foundation for Rare Disorders. Besides the Technology and Art Experimental Field program, there will be the “Mid-Autumn Performance in the Tun District” on September 7, an AR interactive exhibition, “Into the Fairytale - The Elephant King Photography Exhibition,” as part of the Telling Tent project in October, and the “Seagull Oh My Party—Miss. Seagull’s Story and Painting Interactive Party.” Please visit the center’s website (https://www.ttdac.taichung.gov.tw) or its Facebook page for more information.
