The Huludun Cultural Center is currently hosting the "ART‧Fengyuan Artist Invitational Exhibition," which showcases the work of artist Lee Tsung-jen, who has dedicated nearly 40 years to the art of ink painting.The exhibition, titled "Between Heaven and Earth," captures the breathtaking beauty of mountains and rivers, emphasizing the harmonious coexistence and mutual flourishing of all life on Earth. Utilizing refined ink techniques and vibrant colors, the artworks incorporate elements of Western light and shadow, presenting landscapes that are infused with a sense of humanity.
According to the Huludun Cultural Center, Lee Tsung-jen gained recognition during his studies at the National Taiwan University of Arts, where he won first place at the National Fine Arts Exhibition for his portrayal of urban Taipei, marking a significant milestone in his career. He later pursued further education in the United States, earning a master's degree in art creation before returning to teach in Taiwan. Lee has participated in numerous international art exhibitions, showcasing his vibrant creative spirit. He has extensively explored various regions of Taiwan, with his "Forest Emotion Series" focusing on rural landscapes. Lee skillfully merges traditional ink techniques with the bright, saturated colors of acrylics, captivating his audience.
Lee Tsung-jen stated, "The solemn spirit and resilient life force of the Yushan Juniper profoundly moved me. Amid the sudden challenges faced by my family, it became a symbol of spiritual support and encouragement shared within our household. The remarkable energy of nature inspires an exploration of diverse life forms. The "Sanctuary Series" utilizes dry brush techniques and a variety of ink tones to intricately depict the sturdy branches of the Yushan Juniper, reflecting the artist's admiration for the enduring vitality and solitary nature of high mountain junipers through pure and refined light and shadow.
ART‧Fengyuan Artist Invitational Exhibition - Between Heaven and Earth, featuring the ink paintings of Lee Tsung-jen, has been on display at the Huludun Cultural Center since December 6, 2024, and will continue until January 5, 2025.
