Taichung Green Museumbrary's First Volunteer Recruitment Begins! Join Us in Creating a Bright Future for Reading and Art!

If you love reading and art, now is the perfect time to join the volunteer team! Taichung Green Museumbrary, the first world-class venue in Taiwan that integrates an art museum and a library, is set to open at the end of the year. To provide high-quality cultural services, the Taichung Public Library and the Taichung Art Museum are jointly recruiting volunteers. We sincerely invite citizens who are passionate about reading and art to become part of our volunteer team! If you are proficient in Taiwanese, Hakka, or foreign languages, you are especially welcome to join the "Multilingual Volunteer" program and help promote Taichung as a city of happiness through Green Museumbrary.

The Cultural Affairs Bureau stated that TaichungGreen Museumbrary, designed by renowned Japanese architect Kazuyo Sejima, integrates the functions of an art museum and a library, blending aesthetics, knowledge, and cultural exchange. As Taiwan’s first landmark of aesthetic innovation, the building features a unique architectural style characterized by fluidity, lightness, and transparency, allowing light and air to flow freely within the space, showcasing the beauty of art both day and night. Located in Central Park,Green Museumbrary will serve as a cultural hub where knowledge and aesthetics merge, bringing reading and art into every corner of the city. As the grand opening approaches, the Taichung Public Library and Taichung Art Museum are working together to build a strong cultural volunteer team. In the future, this team will also collaborate with the Central Park Volunteer Corps to offer interdisciplinary activities combining reading, art, and nature, enriching the cultural experience of Taichung citizens.

Volunteers at the Taichung Public Library play a key role in promoting reading, with responsibilities including reading services, event promotions, guided tours, storytelling performances, and more. This recruitment drive offers six categories of volunteer roles: reading services, administration, event assistance, storytelling, digital information, and data management. Multilingual volunteers are especially welcome, and the library will provide comprehensive professional training, including tour guiding techniques, library management, and service etiquette. Volunteers will have the opportunity to apply their skills, explore various fields of knowledge, connect with fellow reading enthusiasts, enhance their abilities, and achieve personal growth, ultimately becoming a vital support system for the Taichung Public Library.

The Taichung Art Museum focuses on aesthetic education and cultural inclusivity. The first batch of recruited volunteers will be assigned to four major areas: guided tours, visitor services, space management, and promotional activities. Through diverse training programs, workshops, and observation sessions, volunteers will be able to contribute their expertise, wisdom, and experience, helping to build the museum’s rich service capacity.

The Cultural Affairs Bureau emphasizes that whether you are a book lover or an art enthusiast, Green Museumbrary has a volunteer role that suits you! Registration is open now, and we warmly welcome citizens aged 18 and above with a passion for service to participate and contribute to Taichung’s cultural future.
