Taichung City encourages local businesses to join forces in promoting the arts, with over a hundred businesses already recognized as ArtSpots venues. Applications are now open until May 7th. Businesses in industries such as food and beverage, hospitality, bookstores and publishing, art exhibition spaces, medical clinics and hospitals, and tourism factories — as long as they are interested in promoting arts and culture — are welcome to apply to join the ArtSpots program. Welcomes to join the ArtSpots community and help grow the city’s arts scene!
According to the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the city government has been committed to promoting and supporting ArtSpots certification, encouraging industries of all kinds to host arts and cultural events. The bureau appreciate the join of citizens, making Taichung a place for people to encounter art and culture at any time, showcasing the unique charm of each art venue. Each year, the bureau also hosts events for participating businesses, helping them build connections, learn from each other, and develop diverse skills. They further support businesses by boosting their visibility and co-promoting a wide range of vibrant arts and cultural events.
Liu Shih-Hsin, Chairman of Noodles Origin, which joined the ArtSpots program last year, noted that the Noodles Origin Story House integrate noodle-making culture with tourism experiences. Using intricate miniature models, it brings to life the noodle-making process and captures the charm of Dajia’s local landscapes. It also offers a range of educational and experiential activities, combining the noodle industry with culture and creativity. Showcasing nearly sixty years of brand history and cultural heritage, the Story House highlights how tradition and creativity can intertwine. Now part of the ArtSpots community, Liu expressed excitement about collaborating with the city government to expand Taichung’s cultural and artistic energy.
Wang Hsi-Ning, Marketing and PR Manager at Millennium Hotel Taichung, shared that as a member of the Cultural Affairs Bureau’s ArtSpots program, the hotel aims to bring art closer to its guests through its elegant and spacious design, which provides the perfect backdrop for artworks. Lighting and paintings enhance one another and infuse the space with artistic vitality. With the city government’s diverse promotional efforts and support, the hotel hopes to use arts and culture as a medium to foster connections between businesses and the wider community.
The Cultural Affairs Bureau added that businesses interested in promoting arts and culture are encouraged to apply by May 7. Those able to host at least four arts and cultural events annually, and who have a safe and appropriate venue, are eligible to join the ArtSpots program.
